I gained a BSc(Physio)Hons degree from the University of Cape Town and went on to work in both the public and the private sector in South Africa for some years.
Having relocated to the beautiful Scottish Borders in 1999 with my husband and two daughters, I worked at the Borders General Hospital as Senior Physiotherapist in Women’s Health from 2000 to 2006. It was whilst working in this specialty that I became aware of the benefits of Pilates in the treatment of low back pain, in both an antenatal and post-natal setting as well as for the general public, many of whom were already seeking treatment for low back pain.
I attended courses with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) in London and became a fully certified member of the APPI in 2010. I have completed the Matwork and Class Instructor courses as well as courses in Pilates and the Swiss Ball and Pilates and Small Equipment. The majority of classes that I teach are held at the Border Physio Clinic and classes offered are small to guarantee individual attention.
I also offer one-to-one Pilates sessions at the Clinic.
